As a follow-up to my original post - the Middlesex/Dunellen Rescue Crawl was another successful event.  It was a beautiful day for a walk and it seemed like everyone had a great time.  I look forward to this event next year!

While having dinner at the Dunellen Hotel Rathskellar this evening I confirmed (and registered for) the Rescue Crawl on 8/28.  The details are exactly as posted in my original message.  Last year was great fun and I am expecting the same this year.

I had dinner at the Dunellen Hotel Rathskellar last night and learned that the 2010 Middlesex-Dunellen Rescue Squad pub crawl will be on Saturday, August 28.  I went last year and it really was a great time.  I am going again this year and will likely organize my neighborhood friends to participate.  It is a great way to support 2 great organizations while going for a walk and having fun.  I will investigate further and report back here with details.  Until then, if it is like last year's event, it went something like this:

-$25 entry fee gets t-shirt and barbecue at Kerwin's
-Depart Kerwin's Tavern ~12:00 noon
-Barbecue at Kerwin's at conclusion
-Get card stamped at each tavern for door prizes at the Kerwin's barbecue
-Stops include:

Thanks to the Borough for installing the fountains in the pond at Victor Crowell Park this morning.  It is going to be a very hot weekend and the fountains help to keep the pond healthy.

A documentary focusing on the state of education in New Jersey is making its debut.

Bob Bowden is the director of "The Cartel." Bowdon quit his job as a reporter with Bloomberg Television to make the film. He spent two years talking to school administrators, teachers, parents, students and education advocates about New Jersey schools. In one scene, he interviews a Camden teen who says by high school he still did not know the alphabet or basic multiplication.

That's great!  If someone knows the students who did that, it would be great if they could post the lyrics (some were a little tough to hear) - but I loved it!  The pizza section cracked me up.  I am always amazed when another pizzeria opens in town.
